BEELD was awarded the project funded by UNDP.

The aim of this project is to improve the livelihoods in Bickfaya region by renovating the existing sidewalk and to provide safety road furniture including signage and markings.

The project was executed in collaboration with UNDP and the Municipality of Bickfaya in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and with the supervision of Rafik el Khoury and Partners. A new design was incorporated keeping the minimum width of the road based on the rules set by the Ministry of Public Works. The sidewalk was renovated by building new concrete curbs and tiling with pavers or cement tiles based on the design drawings. Road furniture were later installed for safety purposes including road posts and signs, bollards and cateyes. Later, the road was marked with special thermoplastic paint to account for pedestrian crossing and road limits.
